Emma is a first-year student in the CRDM Ph.D. program. Her research focuses on mobile and locative media, and she’s interested in how our interactions with these media impact our experiences with the physical spaces around us. Her additional interests include electronic literature, video games, composition pedagogy, and philosophy. Emma is passionate about teaching at the post-secondary level, and is currently in her third year of teaching, while also being the faculty sponsor for the Acts of Kindness Club at NC State. She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and now lives in Raleigh with Gatsby, her Miniature Poodle. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing tabletop board games, and hiking.
