I grew up in Newton, NC, and recently moved to Cary from Winston-Salem. In my previous career, I was a golf teaching professional, and then dived into academia to study sports communication as it intersects with gender, racial inequalities, culture, politics, and media. I am also interested in creativity within methodologies, critical-making scholarship and pedagogy, and visual rhetoric. I love music, watching my dog run with reckless abandon, long walks while listening to podcasts, cooking (sometimes), and last-minute adventures.
